Calling all Little League Umpires of all ages and experience levels – join us for an umpire clinic to learn and refine the basics!

The Little League 1-Day Outreach Clinic will be led by members of the Little League National Instructor Team and will help umpires of all experience levels, especially those at the grassroots level, learn the fundamentals of umpiring Little League Baseball and Softball. This clinic is open to umpires of all ages, skill levels, and experience levels.

Hands-on, engaging, and interactive instruction will focus on teaching the basics of umpiring in Little League to encourage and equip umpires for the season by focusing on the following topics:

· The Role of the Little League Umpire

· The Basics of Working the Plate – 3 Steps to Calling Balls & Strikes

· Basic Field Mechanics and Positioning – Knowing Where & When to Stand

· Working the 2-Umpire System

· Little League Rules to Know

Our National Instructor Team will utilize effective instructional strategies and leverage on-field drills and simulations to introduce, apply, and reinforce the concepts presented.

Training materials and lunch will be provided for all attending umpires. However, umpires will be responsible for all other travel arrangements, including lodging, breakfast, and dinner, if appropriate.

It is suggested that umpires bring all umpire equipment and gear, and that they dress in an umpire uniform or wear clothing that allows them to move and participate freely in cage work, drills, and simulations. Umpires should also bring a baseball glove with them to participate in all planned activities. Since this event will take place on a high school gym floor, it is requested that you wear TENNIS SHOES (No Umpire Shoes will be allowed)

**Note: Umpires under the age of 18 must be registered by their parent and/or legal guardian, and the contact information provided must be that of the parent and/or legal guardian.

As a Little League Umpire, all umpires are reminded to complete a background check on the Umpire Registry, in addition to completing the LL Abuse Awareness Training. The Abuse Awareness training is free and can be completed here: https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/abuse-awareness-training-course/

Whether new to the umpiring ranks or with many years of experience, our clinics will ensure you have the most current, up-to-date, and approved mechanics and rules knowledge to elevate your game. We hope to see you soon!
